The Busy Twist is one of the leading lights of the new global dance underground, effortlessly hotwiring vibrant sounds from across the continents. He connects the dots between bass-driven Afro, Latin, Caribbean and UK influences, with DJ sets that have taken him everywhere from Glastonbury to Nyege Nyege in Uganda, to the multiple Barranquilla carnivals where I witnessed first hand Busy putting fire on the dance floors at many parties!
Over the past year, Busy Twist has entered a highly creative phase, closing 2024 with the standout LDN Palenque EP — a bold sonic bridge between London and San Basilio de Palenque in Colombia with Kombilesa Mí and sung in the rare Palenquero language, the project blends Afro-Colombian heritage with euphoric UK-influenced club music, with the title track featured on the EA Sports FC 2025 soundtrack.
Now, Busy has released Busy Life Vol. 1, the first release on his own label, Busy Life Music — a multilingual, genre-fluid mixtape documenting a decade of musical evolution through global collaborations. Rooted in deep cultural immersion, his work bridges past and future, tradition and club culture, shaping a truly borderless sound.
